Reaching the Port – Useful Information

Before answering the following questions, it’s important to note that Salerno has three distinct port areas, and all information must be considered according to the specific port involved.

Overview of the Ports:

Molo Manfredi
Used primarily for long-distance ferries (e.g., Palermo, Messina, Tunis).
Structured terminal for vehicles and passengers, with official check-in procedures.
Located near the Zaha Hadid Maritime Terminal.

Masuccio Salernitano
Tourist harbor serving hydrofoils and fast ferries on short routes:
Amalfi Coast (Amalfi, Positano)
Islands (Capri, Ischia, Procida)
Cilento Coast (Agropoli, Palinuro, Sapri)
Departure point for seasonal services such as Travelmar, Alicost, and local lines (April–October).

Marina d’Arechi
Modern tourist marina with over 1,000 boat slips.
Dedicated to recreational boating and private yachts.
It does not operate public ferry services, but offers charter and tourist services.

1. How can I reach the three ports of Salerno (Molo Manfredi, Masuccio Salernitano, Marina d’Arechi) by car from major directions (Naples, Rome, Reggio Calabria, Bari)?

From Naples, Reggio Calabria (A3) or from Rome/Bari (A2/A30 + Avellino–Salerno junction): take the Salerno Centro exit. From there, you have two main options:

City center route: enter the city, follow Via dei Principati, and at the end turn onto the seafront to reach Piazza della Concordia (Masuccio Salernitano), or continue on Via Roma until Piazza della Libertà where the Maritime Terminal (Molo Manfredi) is located.

Viadotto Gatto route: take Viadotto Alfonso Gatto, which leads directly to Molo Manfredi; continuing along the seafront, you can also reach Masuccio Salernitano.

From the south, a convenient alternative is to exit at Fratte, follow Via Lungo Irno to Corso Garibaldi, and from there:

stop at Masuccio Salernitano, or

continue to Molo Manfredi.

For Marina d’Arechi:

From the north: exit at Fratte, take the tangenziale (bypass), and exit at Zona Industriale.

From the south: exit at Pontecagnano, join the tangenziale, exit at Zona Industriale, and follow Via Salvador Allende (Arechi stadium area).

2. Where can I park near Molo Manfredi, Masuccio Salernitano, and Marina d’Arechi?

Molo Manfredi:
Underground parking at Piazza della Libertà (600–700 spaces, with elevators and direct access to the Maritime Terminal).

Masuccio Salernitano:
Public parking available near Piazza della Concordia, Foce Irno, Via Vinciprova, and Via Carella – all within walking distance.

Marina d’Arechi:
You can park near the Arechi Stadium and walk, or use the paid parking facilities within the marina itself.

In addition, secure and partner parking options (e.g., MyParking, EasyParking, ParkinGO) are available with shuttle services to Molo Manfredi and Masuccio Salernitano.

3. Are there shuttle services to reach each terminal from parking areas or the city center?

Yes, several private parking areas offer free shuttle service to Molo Manfredi and Masuccio Salernitano (average 10–30 minutes).

Marina d’Arechi can be reached by taxi, private shuttle, or public bus, although no public shuttle service is currently dedicated to the marina.
